The new cow

Right now, she's just 'Cow.' And she's taller than she looks in this photo.
Cow is a four-year-old grade Jersey who's due to calve around the end of February. She's gentle, a bit shy, loves corn, and seems to believe that if she keeps looking she'll find another cow somewhere in the south pasture. I guess the goats and sheep just aren't her kind of folks. Posted by Picasa

She looks a little suspicious of you! :)

Nice cow. Something we're working our way up to getting. We drink enough milk, about a gallon to a gallon and a half a day. An expensive habit. :) Right now we're working our way upward in animal size. One of our sows is now over 750 lbs. Almost the size of a cow! :)

If the calf is a girl, I think her name should be Katie.
